Rodney Brooks Takes On New Role At iRobot Corp.

Brooks to Remain on Board and Chair Technical Advisory Board

Bedford, Mass., September 2, 2008 – iRobot Corp. (Nasdaq: IRBT) today announced that Dr. Rodney Brooks will be stepping down as the company’s chief technology officer. Brooks will continue to serve on the board of directors of iRobot and will be leading the formation of an iRobot technical advisory board and serving as its chairman. iRobot is expected to begin its search for a new full time chief technology officer in 2009.

“Rod has been an integral part of iRobot over the years, playing a large role in the company’s success,” said Colin Angle, chief executive officer, iRobot. “We are fortunate that he will continue to be a part of the company, lending his expertise and knowledge to our roadmap forward.”

“Working with the executive team at iRobot, I’ll remain close to the company through my work on the board,” said Brooks. “I look forward to forming an iRobot technical advisory board and am excited to serve as this board’s chair.”

Professor Brooks, a noted authority on robots, will also be working on a new venture, Heartland Robotics, a non-competing robot company.
