iRobot Receives $7.8 Million Order from the U.S. Army

xBot Order Calls for the Delivery of 90 Robots

BEDFORD, Mass., February 10, 2009 – iRobot Corp. (Nasdaq: IRBT) today announced that it has received an order totaling $7.8 million under its current xBot contract with the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).

This is the ninth order under the $286 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) xBot contract, bringing the current total contract value to approximately $80 million. The order calls for the delivery of 90 iRobot PackBot 510 with FasTac Kit robots and spare parts.

The PackBot 510 with FasTac Kit, employed in both Iraq and Afghanistan, was developed for reconnaissance missions and to identify roadside bombs, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other unexploded ordnance. The robot provides soldiers with a tool to investigate suspicious objects from greater standoff distances, helping to keep them safe on the battlefield.

“We are honored to be serving our troops by delivering these life-saving robots to them in theater,” said Joe Dyer, president of iRobot Government and Industrial Robots. “The PackBot 510 with FasTac Kit is a battle-proven tool, and this latest order shows the Army’s commitment to employing these robots in even greater numbers moving forward.”

iRobot has delivered more than 2,200 PackBot robots that make a difference every day by conducting dangerous missions that keep warfighters out of harm’s way.
